Exploring Scotland

Gravel, Snow & Wild Trails

This ride had it all, snow dusted hills, biting headwinds, and complete isolation along a new logging trail. A quick stop at the tearoom in Tighnabruaich gave a brief moment of warmth before tackling a punishing hike-a-bike along the Cowal Way. Definitely not for the faint-hearted the hike-a-bike alone is a test of will, demanding an hour or two of hauling your bike through mud and rocky outcrops. But somehow, through the challenge, there was joy.

Returning home to a place I once struggled to love and finding new ways to make this landscape my own has been unexpectedly inspiring. We all change, and so do the places we leave behind. But maybe, with the right mindset, we can learn to meet them again with fresh eyes.
